To Vaca or Not That is the Question  (Part 2 of 5).........

If you haven't figured it out yet St. Charles County, MO and St. Louis City/County, MO offers more than just the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Rams and St. Louis Blues.  There are loads of parks, walking trails, bike trails, casinos and history too.  And there are other things to do too.  Like, Bed & Breakfast, which will offer an alternative to the more traditional hotel/motel.  So let's take a look at just a few of the Bed & Breakfast that are close to home.

With gas prices constantly moving up and down, mostly UP!  Not to mention other prices doing the same, it is hard for some to even consider taking a get-a-way vacation.

If you are new to the area or maybe you are a home body like me and just don't get out, you may not know of placesMissouri Wineries around the Greater St. Charles, MO area.  There is a wealth of things to do right here, as we found out last week, and they won't cost a boatload of money either!  In this series I hope to show what one could do within a short drive from home.  Not only for the adults but also things the kids will be able to do and enjoy.

So this week I want to take a look at wineries throughout the state.  So let's start with just a brief history lesson   on wineries in Missouri just to whet your palate.  "The Country's First Wine Country" is far more than just a tagline.  Over 150 years ago, European settlers were making great wine here in Missouri and today there are more than 100 wineries in our state.

Here is a very short list of wineries, some of which I frequent and enjoy the view offered while sipping on a nice glass of wine.  The wineries that I have listed below are just a short drive from St. Charles.  One could call it taking a day trip.

Just imagine taking a weekend trip to Kansas City or Springfield or even St. Charles.  You could stay at a Bed & Breakfast and visit a winery close by.

There are many, many more wineries across the state and if you would like more information on Missouri wine(s) and the history of our fine wines or where they are located just visit www.missouriwine.org

Hi Don - I am not familiar with the area.  What is the weather like this time of year?

Howdy and evening to you Don

Don,
those sure are mighty fine Wineries in the Grand State of Missouri. Plus there sure are a whole lot of mighty fine fishing spots along the way.

To Conrad in the first comment, more than likely, you would think it was hot.

Have a good one
