Dons' musings about O Fallon Mo : Clam On The Half Shell Day

Clam On The Half Shell Day

Clam On The Half Shell Day

If you like clams then don’t forget to place March 31st on your calendar every year.  I would think that you may be able to celebrate Clams on the Half Shell any day of the year, don’t you?

However, today is Clam on the Half Shell Day.  Boy, the world Clamsreally needs a day like today.  If you don’t just like Clams but really love them then you must be elated that someone was smart enough, and had the insight, to create this day for us to enjoy and savor.

I hope that you like clams because; the objective of the day is to enjoy clams on the half shell.  If you don't like clams, don't be sad or disappointed. Today is also Bunsen Burner Day. And, tomorrow, well it is a brand new day!

Now is not the time to clam up or hide in your shell.  Get out and celebrate this special day!

Just think, Clams Casino or Clams Royale!  Me I like Steamed Clams drenched in butter with a Ice cold draft or a huge plate of Fresh Fried Clams, Fries and some Cole Slaw.  The problem is I haven’t found either of these in Missouri.  Can someone help a brother out?  If not I think that I will have to go and visit some of my AR friends up in New England......

Don, like Mike, I am now on a mission to go and get some for dinner tonight.  And, the keyboard comment gave me a belly-laugh.  Have a great one!  And thanks for the great copy and great idea.

Rob,

The next time I do a food post I am going to get a clear plastic cover for my keyboard.  I am still suffering from the drool thing.

I am going to do my Patriotic Best to participate in this important national day, LOL.

Today I am at the RE Tech South Convention in Atlanta... but there is a lunch break... let me do an Internet Search and find a nearby restaurant that serves Clams.

Thanks for the tip!

Pat,

I fell in love with them when I lived in Rhode Island and was able to get them fresh.  Not the frozen kind in the grocery store.

Good morning Rebecca,

I can understand both sides I used to be the same way until my future wife introduced me to the real ones way back in the day.
