Indiana, Are YOU on a quest to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Get Recognized?
This post is a result of two posts by my friend Richard Weisser down in Georgia. The first post was "How do you expect to get drenched in the rain if you don't even want to get your feet wet?" dated 5/21/09 in which he offers 6 suggestions to those of us here in Active Rain. In addition he also offers his personal guarantee "So, for those of you that want to succeed at blogging, I offer you this challenge. Before you throw in the towel, write at least one hundred quality posts before you make your value assessment. It takes that long to develop the correct skills and disciplines and also to create a body of content large enough to have a significant SEO impact on your business. Now that is some guarantee wouldn't you say? Richard then follows that post with another post titled "Achieving national celebrity status as a result of ActiveRain blogging becomes a reality! (of sorts)" where he talks about a recent interview with Realtor Magazine on line where he was interviewed about blogging for business. So, IMHO, Richard is not only a celeb but one that knows where of he speaks.
With the numerous posts talking to newbie's here in Active Rain on how to be a success in their blogging venture to improve their visibility to the public I am setting out on a quest. I am not going to suggest things to newbie's or those that are less active on AR; I am on a search for some of these folks for introduction to our AR family. Here is my 2 step plan:
- Go on a state by state search and post between 5 and 7 people each Saturday
- Then you the MEMBERSHIP will be able to see and encourage them by responding to their most recent post
The end result will be, hopefully, an increase in activity with more members becoming visible. Now there is a really BIG problem with this plan. I will not be able, my rule, to suggest those that have not done a post or even posted their picture. You see there won't be any secret agents, lenders, stagers, inspectors, etc. shown. Sorry, if you want to be considered I need to see who you are, sorta like your picture on your business card.
Today I am looking at the state of Indiana, where Active Rain has a total of 1808 AR members as of this morning. I would say that Jeff & Grace Safrin #1 and Dave Woodson #2 could have some competition coming up behind them. So, say hello to:
Brad Wagner with FC Tucker Emge Realtors in Evansville, IN.
Brad wrote two posts in June about a local Homestead Tax Credit issue and hasn't been back. He is showing his interest in keeping those in his area updated on issues that relate to them. What better platform to use than AR and with a little help and encouragement I am sure that Brad will continue to offer up these tasty tidbits.
Sandra Richard with Booker Realty in Fishers, IN.
It looks as though Sandra became a member last year and then ventured out into the Rain with her first post earlier this month. It was a reblog of a post about the new Truth in Lending Act and how it could affect your closings. Drop in on Sandra and share some AR love and encouragement.
Dave Davis with Home Quarters Real Estate in Sellersburg, IN.
Dave wrote an introductory post in February and is looking to meet some new friends and associates. He is concerned that his 10 year old knows more about computers but I am sure that with a little help from some new found friends and associates he will overcome that fear. Dave hasn't been back since his first post but I am thinking that he may need to be prodded, just a bit, and he will venture back into the Rain.
Jess Tron with McColly Real Estate in Valparaiso, IN.
Jess was introduced by her mother Irene just this week as a new member and had just written her first post. Since that time she has come back to write three more and sounds excited about getting her license and being here in Active Rain. I am thinking that she could serve as a poster child for new members. She is definitely excited about being here and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. Stop in and say hello.
Chris MacKenzie with Northwestern Mutual in Fishers, IN.
Any Hockey fans out there? Chris has this to say about himself," I came to Northwestern In 2005 after spending 13 years playing professional hockey. I was drafted by the St. Louis Blues and was fortunate to win 5 Championships." I bet he could really put a check on ya, but I digress. Now he helps folks figure out their Roth IRA. Chris became a member in February, wrote his first post and may be in need of some encouragement to continue writing. Stop in and say hello.
Dan Tate with Lingle Real Estate, Inc. in Richmond, IN.
Dan wrote several posts in April about both commercial properties that he had sold and the historic and unusual properties that he had sold. They are loaded with photos and for those of you that like eye candy I would suggest that you stop in for a visit. I must admit that the historic and unusual properties really caught my eye.
Jeanne Sommer with Century 21 Alliance Group in Valparaiso, IN.
Jeanne became a member last year and waited until May of this year to venture into the RAIN. Jeanne may be just a little bit shy and may need some encouragement to come back out and share with the rest of the group. Stop in and say hello......
Be looking for your state coming soon to a post near you. Next I will be off to Kansas; if you know of someone celebrating a birthday in Kansas next week just email their name to me and I will acknowledge one person.
Please stop by and encourage these guys and gals and let's see if we can improve some of the participation. Thanks for stopping in.
If you are looking for a very simple way to move up in your standings for the state that you live in, here are two small suggestions:
- Make one comment on someone's blog post.....Just pick one of the Featured Posts and read it then comment on what you read and
- Complete your profile and then if you are looking for other suggestions,
- Click here and here and here for more help.
