Alaska, Are YOU on a quest to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Get Recognized?
This post is a result of two posts by my friend Richard Weisser down in Georgia. The first post was "How do you expect to get drenched in the rain if you don't even want to get your feet wet?" dated 5/21/09 in which he offers 6 suggestions to those of us here in Active Rain. In addition he also offers his personal guarantee "So, for those of you that want to succeed at blogging, I offer you this challenge. Before you throw in the towel, write at least one hundred quality posts before you make your value assessment. It takes that long to develop the correct skills and disciplines and also to create a body of content large enough to have a significant SEO impact on your business. Now that is some guarantee wouldn't you say? Richard then follows that post with another post today titled "Achieving national celebrity status as a result of ActiveRain blogging becomes a reality! (of sorts)" where he talks about a recent interview with Realtor Magazine on line where he was interviewed about blogging for business. So, IMHO, Richard is not only a celeb but one that knows where of he speaks.
So, with the numerous posts talking to newbie's here in Active Rain on how to be a success in their blogging venture to improve their visibility to the public I am setting out on a quest. I am not going to suggest things to newbie's or those that are less active on AR; I am going to start a search for some of these folks. Here is my 2 step plan:
- Go on a state by state search and post between 5 and 7 people each Saturday
- Then you the MEMBERSHIP will be able to see and encourage them by responding to their most recent post
The end result will be, hopefully, an increase in activity with more members becoming visible. Now there is a really BIG problem with this plan. I will not be able, my rule, to suggest those that have not done a post or even posted their picture. You see there won't be any secret agents, lenders, stager, inspectors, etc. shown. Sorry, if you want to be considered I need to see who you are, sorta like your picture on your business card.
This week I am looking at the state of Alaska, where we have a total of 223 AR members as of this morning. So, say hello to:
Armando Williams with Armando Williams in Anchorage, AK.
Armando has written only one post and reveals that he deals in bulk REO properties. This sounds interesting and may appeal to some. I would suggest stopping by and seeing what he has to say.
Barbara Bowden with Prudential Jack White/Vista Real Estate in Anchorage, AK.
Barbara and her husband have a love for speed and talks about it in her first and only post. This is another interesting member and one that could bring a lot to our learning experience here in AR.
Emmitt Trimble with Coastal Realty in Homer, AK.
It sounds as though Emmitt owns his own company and has this to say about what the company does, "We specialize in land, residential, second homes, condo projects, resorts, lodges and land development. With six professionals we have over 185 years of residency in Alaska and 80 years of real estate experience." Pay Emmitt a visit and welcome him.
Victoria Brink with Keller Williams Realty in Eagle River, AK.
Victoria recently made a move to a new company, Keller Williams, and sounds as though she h=is happy with the transition. BTW, she is also glad that Spring came to her area. I am thinking that I would be glad to see warm weather too. But, again I don't really like temps below 30 degrees and only then for about an hour.
Don Zimmerman with IEC Realty in Wasilla, AK.
Don has been a REALTOR® for over 20 years and has a good knowledge of his area and with his wife post some nice pictures of the area that they live in.
Katherine deHoop with Exit Realty Alaska in Anchorage, AK
Has lived in Alaska for about 17 years and I bet that we could get her to talk about her home there in Anchorage if we really tried.
Then there is the number on REALTOR® in Alaska, Jesse Clifton, that doesn't need any introduction but due to him celebrating his birthday this week I thought that for those of you that didn't wish him Happy Birthday now will be your chance. I could tell you how old he is but I won't. I will say that he is trying to catch up with me but is loosing the battle.
Be looking for your state coming soon to a post near you. Next week will be Alabama; if you know of someone celebrating a birthday in Alabama next week just email their name to me and I will acknowledge one person.
Please stop by and encourage these guys and gals and let's see if we can improve some of the participation. Thanks for stopping in.
